September’s Dawn
1 min readDec 28, 2017
This is a little poem I wrote earlier this year, in the middle of the night. I found it in my old notebook, and thought, since this year’s about to end, what’s the harm in sharing some poems I wrote in 2017?
Well, this is the one I’m most proud of. More are coming soon.

I couldn’t sleep the night summer ended.
I looked and listened instead of closing my eyes.
The house was still, the world held its breath —
Til I heard an owl tell the world goodnight,
And through my window saw a rising light
Before I knew it — the break of dawn.
That year’s summer was forever gone.
